Suttons International Donate It Equipment To Local Communities

Global logistics provider Suttons International have donated IT equipment, which includes monitors and keyboards, to local organisations. Colleagues in Antwerp, Belgium and New Jersey, USA reached out to local schools and organisations that would benefit most from these donations.

Following a recent global IT refresh of £2M, investing in infrastructure, user endpoint hardware and systems, offices across the business were left with a large number of surplus IT equipment.

In line with Suttons’ commitment to support local communities, the hardware for donation went through a refurbishment and cleaning process before being gifted to the chosen organisations.

The Antwerp office donated to a local high school, The Royal Antwerp Atheneum. Our New Jersey office gave equipment to two organisations; Code Ninjas, which is a local organisation that help children develop their SETM (Science Technology Engineering & Math) education though coding tasks, and The LOW, a non profit organisation based in Florida that supports local communities through fundraisers.

Throughout the Covid-19 pandemic children across the globe have had to adapt to new ways of learning which have commonly been remote and seen a shift towards a more online approach. Suttons appreciate that having IT equipment is a privilege and can sympathise with the financial strain this has placed on many families and communities across the globe. The equipment that has been donated will help to ease the burden that has been placed on the affected groups as a result of these challenges circumstances.

Suttons Group place a strong focus on personal development and progression and saw an opportunity to provide communities with the tools and equipment to give young people the best chance to succeed.

Steve Lonsdale, Regional Director – The Americas, said:

These donations reflect our commitment to support local communities. Although Suttons International is a global company, we must also work as a force of good in our respective regions. The items provided will be put to good use, allowing children to continue with their remote learning during the pandemic and beyond.”
